Buy PS5 Games in Kenya: Prices, Editions, Disc vs Digital & Buying Guide

Buying a PS5 game should be simple, but the number of editions, genres, prices and console options can make it easy to choose the wrong title. This Infinite Tech guide explains how to buy PS5 games in Kenya with more confidence, whether you are shopping for yourself, a child, a competitive gamer or as a gift.

If price is your first concern, start with our PS5 Games Price in Kenya 2026 index. For recommendations by genre, read Best PS5 Games in Kenya. New-release shoppers can use Latest PS5 Games in Kenya.

1. Start with your PS5 console type

Before buying a physical game, confirm whether your PlayStation 5 can read discs. A standard PS5 with a compatible disc drive can use physical PS5 game discs. A Digital Edition without a disc drive cannot read a physical disc directly. This sounds basic, but it is one of the easiest mistakes to make when buying a game as a gift.

If you are unsure which console the recipient owns, ask whether they normally insert game discs into the console. If not, verify the exact model before buying a physical copy.

2. Decide between physical and digital PS5 games

Physical and digital games can deliver the same core game experience, but ownership and convenience differ.

Reasons to choose a physical PS5 game

• You receive a physical copy you can keep on a shelf.
• Physical games are easier to lend to another compatible PS5 owner.
• Some buyers prefer the possibility of reselling or trading the disc later.
• A physical copy can make a better gift because there is something tangible to hand over.
• You can shop across different physical retailers rather than depending only on one digital storefront.

Reasons to choose digital

• No disc swapping.
• Purchase and installation can be convenient if you have fast internet.
• Your library is tied to your PlayStation account.
• Digital-only consoles require digital purchases unless a compatible external disc-drive solution is supported by that specific model.

For many Kenyan buyers, the decision comes down to console compatibility, internet reliability, whether they value resale flexibility, and current pricing.

3. Compare the actual PS5 game price in Kenya

Do not assume every PS5 game costs the same. Current Infinite Tech prices cover a wide range. At the time of this update, examples include Watch Dogs: Legion at KSh 3,900, EA SPORTS FC 26 at KSh 4,700, TEKKEN 8 at KSh 5,100, Ghost of Yōtei at KSh 8,300 and EA SPORTS UFC 6 at KSh 9,400.

Because prices can move with stock and distributor cost, use the PS5 price index to compare before choosing.

4. Choose the right genre

A game can be critically acclaimed and still be a poor purchase for someone who dislikes its genre. Start with the type of play the gamer already enjoys.

Football and sports

Football fans can compare EA SPORTS FC 25, FC 26 and FC 27. Basketball players have NBA 2K options, wrestling fans can choose WWE 2K titles, while F1, MotoGP, Cricket and UFC cover other competitive sports.

Fighting

TEKKEN 8, Mortal Kombat 1, Street Fighter 6 and Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO are strong starting points for players who enjoy direct competition and local multiplayer.

Racing

Gran Turismo 7 suits players who want a polished racing focus, while The Crew Motorfest offers a more open automotive playground. F1, WRC, RIDE and Need for Speed broaden the choice.

Story and adventure

Ghost of Yōtei, God of War Ragnarök, The Last of Us, Horizon Forbidden West, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and UNCHARTED are better suited to players who want strong single-player experiences.

Horror

Resident Evil, Alan Wake 2 and Alone in the Dark are better choices for players who actively enjoy suspense and horror. Check age ratings before buying for younger gamers.

5. Check whether the game is single-player, local multiplayer or online multiplayer

Do not assume a game supports two people on one console merely because it has multiplayer. Some titles offer online multiplayer only. Others support local play on one PS5. If your goal is family gaming, couple gaming or a game night, local multiplayer support matters.

Our upcoming Best 2-Player PS5 Games and Best Couch Co-op PS5 Games guides will organize the catalogue around this question.

6. Check age ratings and content

When buying for children, the game name alone is not enough. Check the official age rating, violence, language, online interaction and in-game purchase notices. A colourful cover does not automatically mean a game is designed for young children.

For family shopping, use our planned Best PS5 Games for Kids guide, which will separate child-friendly options by age and play style.

7. Understand game editions

Games may be sold as Standard, Deluxe, Gold, Ultimate, Collector or other special editions. The most expensive edition is not automatically the best choice. Extra content may include cosmetic items, season passes, expansion content or bonus packs. Read the specific listing and decide whether the included extras matter to you.

8. Do not confuse PS4 and PS5 versions

Some game franchises exist on both PS4 and PS5. Look for the platform clearly stated in the product title and cover. Backward compatibility can make some PS4 games playable on PS5, but when you specifically want the PS5 version, buy the listing identified as PS5.

9. Consider storage and download requirements

A physical disc does not mean the game uses no internal storage. Modern PS5 games commonly install substantial data to the console, and updates can require additional downloads. If your storage is nearly full, you may need to remove games or expand compatible storage before installing another large title.

10. Check internet requirements

Some games work well offline after installation, while others depend heavily on online services. Competitive online games may also require the relevant PlayStation online subscription for multiplayer features. If you have limited internet access, prioritize games with strong offline modes and verify requirements before buying.

Where to buy PS5 games in Kenya

A good retailer should make the title, platform, edition, current price and availability clear. It should also be easy to contact the seller if you have a compatibility or order question. Infinite Tech maintains dedicated WooCommerce product pages and a growing PlayStation knowledge base so shoppers can move from research to comparison to purchase without guessing.

Infinite Tech serves Kenyan shoppers online and operates from Rehema House, Nairobi. Current stock and prices should always be confirmed on the individual product page.
