DJI Osmo Mobile 7 vs 7P: Kenya Price and Real Differences
Quick answer: The lower-priced Osmo Mobile 7 and the more equipped 7P share the same core idea: stable phone video. The 7P’s extension rod and tracking accessory offer a better fit for some solo creators.

KSh 4,000 price gap
The Osmo Mobile 7 costs KSh 10,895 at Infinite Tech; the 7P is KSh 14,895 as of this comparison. A creator shooting straight ahead while walking may be satisfied with the cheaper 7. Spending more makes sense when selfie framing, elevated angles and hands-free setups are part of your routine.
Extension rod and framing
The standard Osmo Mobile 7 does not have a built-in extension rod. The 7P has a built-in rod extending up to about 215 mm, making it more practical for wide selfies or higher/lower phone positions without bringing another accessory. Both feature built-in tripod capability for stable surfaces.
Tracking and the Multifunctional Module
DJI offers a Multifunctional Module for subject tracking, fill light and supported audio workflows. The 7P package includes the module in DJI’s usual retail configuration; availability and exact box contents should still be verified for the Kenyan stock being sold. The standard 7 buyer should not assume the same hardware comes in the box.
Choosing without overspending
For basic pans, walking videos and school projects, buy the 7 and keep money for sound or lighting. For talking-head videos, livestream-style framing and TikTok filming alone, the 7P gives more flexibility. Neither is listed by DJI as offering the 8-series unlimited 360-degree pan feature.
Frequently asked question
Can I buy the 7 and get the 7P extension rod later?
The integrated extension rod is a 7P hardware distinction. An external accessory is not the same as converting the 7 into a 7P.
