Best PS5 fighting games: quick comparison

Best overall fighting game: TEKKEN 8

TEKKEN 8 is the strongest general recommendation for players who want deep one-on-one competition, recognizable characters and a game that rewards practice. It is especially good for local matches with friends because the skill ceiling gives it long-term replay value.

Best value fighting game: Mortal Kombat 1

Mortal Kombat 1 at KSh 4,800 offers strong value for buyers who want a modern fighting game without crossing KSh 5,000. Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is cheaper at KSh 4,300 and is the stronger budget choice if newness matters less.

Best competitive 2D fighter: Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 is a strong choice for players who enjoy classic 2D fighting fundamentals, competitive matches and learning character-specific techniques. At KSh 4,900, it also remains below the KSh 5,000 mark.

Best fighting game for Dragon Ball fans

Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is the better fit for players who specifically want a large Dragon Ball character roster and arena-style battles. It costs more than TEKKEN 8 or Mortal Kombat 1, so the extra spend makes most sense for a dedicated Dragon Ball fan.

Best cheap fighting game

Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate at KSh 4,300 is the lowest-priced major fighting title in this comparison. If you want a newer title while staying below KSh 5,000, Mortal Kombat 1 or Street Fighter 6 are better fits.

Best fighting game for local multiplayer

TEKKEN 8, Mortal Kombat 1 and Street Fighter 6 are all natural same-console competition choices. For households where people regularly play head-to-head, a fighting game can deliver far more replay value than a short single-player campaign.

TEKKEN 8 vs Mortal Kombat 1

TEKKEN 8 emphasizes 3D movement and technical character mastery, while Mortal Kombat 1 has its own combat style, presentation and franchise identity. The best choice depends on which fighting system and characters you enjoy. We are building a dedicated TEKKEN 8 vs Mortal Kombat 1 comparison for buyers choosing between the two.

How to choose a PS5 fighting game

• Character roster: buy the franchise whose fighters you actually want to use.
• Local versus: ideal if friends and family play on the same console.
• Competitive depth: TEKKEN and Street Fighter reward practice heavily.
• Budget: older entries can save money without losing local fun.
• Age rating: some fighting games contain mature violence and are not suitable for younger players.
