MacBook Air M5 Price in Kenya: 13-inch vs 15-inch for Work, School and Creators
Infinite Tech Kenya buyer guide, updated 27 October 2026.
Apple’s M5 MacBook Air is available in 13-inch and 15-inch forms. Kenyan buyers should decide whether the larger screen is worth its extra cost rather than buying solely by the chip name. The following comparisons use Apple’s announced hardware and live Infinite Tech product listings—not benchmark results from an in-house test.
Two real store configurations and their prices
At the time of this check, Infinite Tech lists the 13-inch MacBook Air M5, 16GB/512GB at KSh 191,500 and the 15-inch MacBook Air M5, 16GB/512GB at KSh 207,500. Both listings are marked in stock, but prices and availability may change. The KSh 16,000 difference pays mainly for greater display workspace, not a different storage capacity in this comparison.
What the M5 update brings
Apple announced MacBook Air M5 in March 2026, with 512GB starting storage and upgraded wireless connectivity including Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. The M5 family targets day-to-day computing, productivity and creative tasks. Verify configuration details: Apple also sells other RAM and SSD options, and performance or battery experience can vary with the application and settings.
The 13-inch buyer
Choose the smaller design when commuting to university, carrying a laptop through Nairobi, travelling frequently or using an external monitor at your desk. The 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display is useful for documents, browsing, presentations and light photo work. Screen size is not a proxy for the quality of the processor.
The 15-inch buyer
Choose 15.3 inches if you regularly compare two documents, use spreadsheets, design layouts, or edit in a visual workspace without an external monitor. It will require more bag space and costs more. For a student on a tight budget, that difference could fund a protective sleeve, cloud backups, a USB-C dock and other essentials.
MacBook Air or MacBook Pro?
MacBook Air is ideal when silence, low weight and general productivity matter most. If your daily work involves long renders, specialist graphics workloads, high-end external display needs or specific ports, compare a MacBook Pro of the same generation. Likewise, Windows-only engineering or accounting applications may make a Windows laptop a better fit regardless of the Mac’s performance.
What to check before paying in Kenya
Confirm RAM, SSD, keyboard layout, charger plug, warranty region, activation status, battery condition for open-box units, and return terms. For Adobe, CAD or accounting software, check the exact software version and licensing before deciding. If buying a used Mac, ensure Activation Lock and device-management profiles have been removed.
