Detailed buying analysis
Do not compare only the product names
The two EliteBooks represent different processor platforms and model generations. HP’s 745 G6 supports Ryzen 7 PRO 3700U, while the 840 G7 has several Intel 10th-generation Core i7 options. The exact Intel CPU suffix is essential to any credible performance comparison.
Office performance and integrated graphics
Both can work well for documents, email, video calls and spreadsheets. The Ryzen option has integrated Radeon Vega graphics, while the Intel model uses integrated Intel graphics. Neither supplied product should be represented as having a discrete NVIDIA graphics card without proof.
Touchscreen versus non-touch
The current supplier 745 G6 Ryzen 7 configuration is non-touch, whereas Infinite Tech’s 840 G7 i7 offer is touchscreen. Buyers who need touch interaction should account for that rather than treating one model as universally better.
Price, condition and support
The comparison should be made with current WooCommerce prices, battery health and warranty in view. For older business laptops, operating-system compatibility, repairability and the condition of the actual device are significant value factors.
Before buying this laptop in Kenya: four non-negotiable checks
- Verify the precise CPU suffix in the BIOS or operating-system system-information screen; a marketing generation label is not proof of the installed processor.
- Ask for the actual RAM and SSD capacity, screen resolution, touch status and any GPU information. Manufacturer family specifications describe available options rather than the unique stock unit.
- Evaluate battery condition, charger, keyboard, ports, screen, webcam and Wi-Fi, and request the written warranty before placing a deposit.
- Compare the current product-page prices and availability instead of relying on a blog price quoted months earlier. Different RAM, touch and storage configurations must not share a misleading comparison price.

Who should choose which?
Students and online learners: prioritise reliable battery condition, enough RAM, the right screen size and a strong SSD rather than an impressive processor badge. Office buyers: consider keyboard comfort, USB ports, external display support and webcam quality. Power users: verify application requirements, sustained performance, exact CPU/GPU, memory limitations and cooling before buying.
