POCO M8 vs M8 Pro 5G in Kenya: Price, Battery and Performance
Quick answer: M8 is the less expensive everyday 5G choice; M8 Pro adds Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, a 6,500mAh battery, 100W charging and a higher-resolution display, particularly in the 12GB/512GB configuration.
POCO M8 and M8 Pro target different budgets. The usual purchasing error is to compare M8 8/256GB with M8 Pro 12/512GB and then attribute every advantage to the model rather than the RAM/storage configuration. In Kenya, list the full version before making a decision.

Do you need the Pro processor?
The M8 can cover WhatsApp, navigation, messaging, browsing, streaming and general photography. M8 Pro’s more capable Snapdragon platform matters more for demanding 3D games, frequent app switching and long-term performance headroom. A customer should identify the workload before paying the extra KSh 12,000.
Battery and charging trade-off
M8 Pro advertises almost 1,000mAh more typical capacity and substantially higher wired charging support. Faster-rated charging does not mean it always operates at peak wattage. Battery health, temperature and adapter compatibility affect real results. Ask if a matching charger is included in your specific retail box.
Storage can change the comparison
The M8 listed here has 256GB; M8 Pro is available with 512GB, plus 12GB physical RAM. A buyer with large video libraries may value the capacity upgrade independently of the Pro’s processor. If capacity is the only concern, compare other M8 regional options before deciding.
Practical recommendations
Choose M8 for price-conscious customers seeking 5G and AMOLED. Choose M8 Pro for more demanding usage, larger local storage and faster charging. Always verify the exact unit’s network bands, warranty, colour and listed price before making payment.
