Lenovo Idea Tab 128GB vs 256GB Kenya: Which Storage Size Should You Buy?
Two Lenovo Idea Tab tablets can both have 8GB RAM while holding different amounts of files. This guide explains how to choose 128GB versus 256GB internal storage in Kenya without confusing storage capacity with multitasking memory.

RAM is not internal storage
RAM is temporary working memory for apps; the 8GB figure on both Infinite Tech Idea Tab variants describes installed LPDDR4X system memory. By contrast, 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.2 is internal flash storage for Android, photos, lessons, downloaded videos and apps. Neither figure can be converted into the other. Sellers sometimes add ‘extended RAM’ labels, but virtual memory should never be presented as physical RAM.
Who should buy 128GB?
A student whose documents live mostly in cloud storage, who streams lectures rather than downloading every video, and who is comfortable managing local files may find 128GB adequate. Expect less free space than the advertised number once Android, preinstalled software and caches occupy storage. Regularly delete obsolete downloads and consider a card where supported.
Who should buy 256GB?
Choose 256GB when you routinely save large PDFs, offline Netflix or learning videos, photo archives, drawing projects and games. An internal drive with spare space also simplifies occasional large app installations and Android updates. Paying extra for storage makes less sense if your files are tiny and your essential apps run online.
A microSD card is not a complete substitute
Lenovo’s Idea Tab family supports microSD, but removable cards are not always suitable for installing every app or storing protected downloaded video. Cards also vary in reliability and speed. Important school documents should be backed up in cloud storage or an independent drive even if the tablet has ample capacity.
Compare bundles before selecting
At Infinite Tech the 8GB/128GB Idea Tab offer includes a folio and pen, while the 8GB/256GB listing includes keyboard and pen. The additional cost therefore includes different accessories, not storage alone. Check live prices, the exact retail box contents and cellular/SIM model to make a fair decision.
Buying checklist for Kenyan customers
Before checkout, verify the exact model on the manufacturer label, actual RAM and built-in storage, SIM or Wi-Fi configuration, physical condition, warranty, charging accessories and whether a pen or keyboard is part of the package. Accessories pictured in generic promotional photographs may not be included with every regional model.
