DJI Osmo Mobile 8P vs 7P: Creator Upgrade Comparison Kenya

Where they overlap
Both are three-axis phone gimbals with built-in extension rods and tripod functions. Both can help solo creators record steady walking or instructional footage. Neither improves the phone’s underlying image sensor, so filming technique still matters.
8P advantages
DJI lists unlimited 360-degree pan on the 8P, plus a detachable FrameTap remote and supported Apple DockKit on eligible iPhones. The 7P does not offer the 8P’s remote in its normal package, nor the same continuous pan feature.
The important bundle distinction
The 7P commonly comes with DJI’s original Multifunctional Module. The 8P Standard Combo should not be confused with bundles that add Multifunctional Module 2. Ask for the exact package specification; some shops advertise accessory-rich images even when selling a standard box.
Value for a Nairobi buyer
The 7P costs KSh 14,895 and can be the smarter choice for many short-form creators. The 8P Standard Combo costs KSh 22,995 and makes more sense if remote framing and expanded rotation are key requirements, especially for filming alone at a distance.
Frequently asked question
Is the 8P always better value than the 7P?
No. The 7P is substantially cheaper and includes creator-friendly framing capabilities.

Creator choice: product and accessory verification
Infinite Tech lists the Osmo Mobile 7P at KSh 14,895 and the 8P Standard Combo at KSh 22,995. The difference is KSh 8,100. The more expensive model makes financial sense when its extra capabilities or supplied accessories solve a filming need—not because it is newer.
Decision checklist before buying
Confirm your phone model and OS compatibility, supported tracking method, included remote or tracking module, magnetic clamp, available charging accessories, maximum payload and app restrictions. For a creator filming interviews, classroom sessions or store demonstrations in Nairobi, the correct phone-plus-gimbal pairing often matters more than headline rotation angles.
Compare the exact DJI box content using manufacturer specifications. Do not describe optional modules as included in the Standard Combo unless your supplier confirms them.
