Best LG TVs for PS5 and Xbox in Kenya: 60Hz vs 120Hz
Updated November 2026. A PS5 or Xbox can work with many 4K LG TVs, but not every connected television can show 120 frames per second. The crucial buying checks are native panel refresh, HDMI 4K120 support, variable refresh rate, ALLM, HDR support and the actual games you play.

What 60Hz genuinely means
LG’s official QNED70A6A manufacturer reference lists a 60Hz native panel and VRR within a 60Hz ceiling. This can provide enjoyable 4K console gaming but is not a native 120Hz display. Do not confuse a vendor’s motion-processing number with the real panel refresh rate. If you mainly enjoy story-driven games capped at 30 or 60fps, a reliable 60Hz television may meet your requirements.
When to pay for a gaming-focused LG TV
For competitive or fast-paced games offering 120fps modes, check the exact LG model’s 4K120 HDMI support and VRR implementation. LG’s official 2026 75QNED84B6T regional page specifies a 120Hz native panel and VRR up to 144Hz; that does not establish those features for every QNED or for shortened supplier codes. Some premium OLED C-series TVs also offer gaming-focused capabilities, but the exact regional SKU must be verified.
Don’t ignore size and seating distance
A 43-inch 4K screen may feel comfortable on a desk or in a small room; a 65-inch or larger set can suit shared living-room gaming. A 100-inch LG such as 100QNED86A6 is a specialist home entertainment investment with separate installation considerations. Bigger is not always better if the room is small or input responsiveness matters more than the picture area.
Setup checklist after purchase
Use an appropriate certified HDMI cable, select the television’s game mode, enable any supported ALLM or VRR feature and confirm the console’s output settings. Check whether the installed HDMI port actually accepts 4K120 before assuming all ports do. Ask for LG regional manufacturer documentation, valid warranty and the exact supplied accessories.
FAQs
Do all 4K LG TVs support 120fps?
No. A 4K resolution alone does not imply 120Hz native refresh.
Does VRR work on every HDMI input?
Not necessarily. Check the product’s port-specific manufacturer specification.
What should I ask the shop?
Ask for the exact LG model code and proof of native refresh, HDMI 4K120 and VRR capabilities.
Is OLED required for PS5?
No. Compatible LCD and Mini LED TVs can also offer strong gaming performance.
