Surface Pro 12 vs 13 Inch Keyboard Kenya: Model Compatibility
Infinite Tech Kenya — verified compatibility buying guide, 1 November 2026.
Do not buy by generation alone: Microsoft’s Surface Pro 12-inch Keyboard is a physically different accessory from the Surface Pro 13-inch Keyboard. A supplier quote that says ‘Surface Pro 11/12 keyboard’ can confuse the Surface Pro generation with the tablet’s screen size.
Compatibility is the main issue
Microsoft’s support guidance states that the Surface Pro 12-inch Keyboard is for the Surface Pro 12-inch family; it is not interchangeable with the Surface Pro 13-inch Keyboard. The 13-inch Keyboard works with specific Surface Pro 8/9/10/11 and Pro X configurations, depending on the accessory. That makes the hardware model and keyboard part number more useful than a seller’s abbreviated title.
Available Infinite Tech accessories
Infinite Tech lists a Surface Pro 12-inch Keyboard at KSh 30,500 and Surface Pro 13-inch Keyboard at KSh 22,000. Another Pro 8/9/X/XI keyboard with pen holder is separately listed. These prices do not prove that all three accessories fit the same Surface.
How to verify your Surface
- Identify the actual Surface model and display size from Windows and the chassis.
- Compare the keyboard’s Microsoft part number and connector layout.
- Check whether the cover includes a Slim Pen or only a pen storage recess.
- Confirm keyboard language, colour, touchpad and backlight requirements.
- Ask the retailer to demonstrate the keyboard physically attaching to the device if uncertain.
FAQ: Does the Surface Pro 12-inch keyboard fit a 13-inch Pro 11?
