Infinite Tech Kenya — buyer research, updated 1 November 2026.

Buying verdict: Choose Xbox Series S 512GB for the lowest cost of entry, Series S 1TB if you need extra installed-game space, and Series X Digital if you want the stronger graphics tier for supported 4K games without using physical discs. These are three different purchasing decisions, not simple colour variations.

Xbox Series X 1TB All Digital Robot White console — Xbox Series X 1TB All-Digital; unlike disc-drive Series X models, it cannot play physical discs.

Current Infinite Tech prices

Series S 512GB is KSh 79,995; Series S 1TB is KSh 82,995; Series X 1TB Digital is KSh 119,000 as of 1 November 2026. The 1TB Series S costs KSh 3,000 more than the 512GB model. That small difference may be compelling for households with large digital libraries, if the same controller and regional console bundle are included.

Storage versus graphics hardware

Microsoft positions the Series S for disc-free gaming with a 1440p-oriented design and 4K upscaling; Series X offers a higher-resolution performance tier and native 4K capabilities with supported games. An SSD capacity upgrade on the Series S does not turn it into a Series X. Frame rates such as 120fps also depend on individual games and display support.

What to budget for in Kenya

All three example consoles are digital, so game purchases, downloads and supported subscriptions are significant ongoing costs. Check broadband usage and whether games you already own are disc-only. A 4K television with HDR and suitable HDMI support can matter more for a Series X buyer than a second storage accessory. Budget for a second controller, any storage expansion card and subscription plans only if actually needed.

FAQs

Will Series S play physical Xbox discs?

No. Microsoft specifies Series S as digital-only.

Can Series S 512GB games be transferred to a 1TB console?

Check Microsoft account entitlements, supported cloud saves and game transfer methods; capacity alone does not establish licence portability.
