Which is the smartest purchase?
This budget includes newer standard iPhone models alongside older Pro models. The iPhone 15 128GB brings USB-C, A16 and a 48MP Main camera, while an older Pro may offer optical telephoto or a 120Hz screen.
The lowest-priced option listed is iPhone 12 mini 128GB (KSh 31,995), whereas the higher-priced choice closest to this ceiling is iPhone 14 256GB (KSh 68,995). Compare their displays, cameras, storage and supported network generation, but do not treat the most expensive eligible handset as automatically best for everyone.
Photography and camera priorities
For Instagram, TikTok, travel and business product photographs, assess camera lens options and the quality of the actual handset. A Pro model might include a dedicated optical telephoto lens absent from a newer standard model, while newer iPhones can offer improved main-camera resolution or processing. A damaged camera lens, unreliable autofocus or replacement part warning can erase the value of a superficially attractive specification.
Student and everyday performance
For lecture notes, WhatsApp, calls, M-PESA and banking apps, battery health and reliable mobile connectivity should carry substantial weight. Apple A13, A14, A15 and A16 Bionic are different generations. An iPhone 11 has 4G LTE rather than 5G, while the iPhone 12 and later generations in this comparison support 5G subject to model and carrier. Check the device’s SIM arrangement, iOS compatibility and actual battery before payment.
Storage, battery and total cost
128GB may be enough for general messages, moderate photography and apps; 256GB or 512GB makes more sense for heavy local media storage. Storage is not upgraded using a memory card. A manufacturer’s advertised battery-life rating describes a new test device, not a used imported phone. Ask for actual battery-health information, included accessories and the written warranty. Shipping charges and any repair needs can change the true ownership cost.
How to inspect an ex-UK iPhone in Kenya
Confirm the model and storage in Settings → General → About; verify IMEI, Activation Lock, camera operation, Face ID, screen, speaker, charging and network unlock. Review Parts and Service History where the model supports it, and do not buy a phone that remains Activation Locked. Neither the term ex-UK nor a seller’s grade automatically proves factory refurbishment or original parts.

Frequently asked questions
Is the best iPhone always the newest within KSh 70,000?
No. A good older Pro with a verified battery and camera can be more useful for some buyers than a newer base phone. Condition and warranty matter.
Can I use Safaricom or Airtel?
Check the specific unlocked regional model and whether it supports the required physical SIM or eSIM service.
Are these prices guaranteed?
They are current catalogue prices on 31 October 2026; availability and actual final checkout details need reconfirmation.
What if the model is marked out of stock?
Do not assume the item is available; contact the shop and compare a listed in-stock alternative.
Are secondhand phones waterproof?
Original water-resistance ratings are not permanent guarantees, especially after wear or repairs.
