Samsung Galaxy A26 vs A27 5G in Kenya: Camera, Chipset and IP Rating
Infinite Tech Kenya editorial comparison · Updated 31 October 2026. This comparison is based on Samsung manufacturer specifications and the store’s dated product listing snapshots; no laboratory benchmarks or hands-on testing are claimed.
Galaxy A27 5G succeeds the A26 family but has a different mix of compromises. Samsung’s official 2026 A27 announcement confirms Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, 12MP selfie camera, an Infinity-O 120Hz AMOLED screen and IP64 protection. Compare those with the exact A26 regional phone before calling the newer device an all-around upgrade.

What A27 changes
Samsung’s A27 announcement lists a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, 12MP selfie camera, 50MP OIS main camera, 5MP ultrawide and 2MP macro. The source lists a 5,000mAh battery and 25W charging. These are manufacturer-stated specifications, not claims about frame rates from our own tests.
Don’t ignore the protection rating
Samsung lists IP64 on A27. Galaxy A26 is commonly documented with IP67. That is a meaningful difference for shoppers concerned about rain and accidental splashes; IP ratings apply under controlled conditions and no phone should be called waterproof. Verify the exact SKU and manufacturer documentation for the supplied A26.
Value and current listing
At the reviewed listings A26 8GB/256GB was KSh 36,000 and A27 8GB/256GB KSh 40,200. Those are dated prices. A buyer who values the cheaper 256GB configuration may prefer A26, while somebody prioritising the newer platform and selfie hardware may shortlist A27.
Availability is not implied by a review
Confirm physical RAM, storage, 5G bands, warranty, software version and stock at checkout. Some Samsung market announcements mention different memory bundles, so a US specification table for A27 cannot alone prove which 8GB/256GB regional unit a Kenyan supplier has.
